That looks better. I forget how you achieve that. I started on the top staff. Start on the bottom?
Yes, begin with having all the notes on the bottom staff.
Then, use the Cross Staff plug-in on the last notes, to move them up into the top staff.

The cross-staff beaming may look better if you avoid the “beam corner”:

Perhaps I do not understand the problem (?)

Re: Opening Files from the early- and mid-90s???

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to open the old Finale documents with Finale v27 - right? One thing to try: Back then the Finale documents did not get the file name extension .musx (which Finale v27 uses). Give the documents the file name extension .musx, and see whether that helps. Ho...

… You can invoke music spacing manually by selecting the measures you want to space and pressing Ctrl+4.
In my Mac Finale the {Music Spacing} keystroke is Command+4.

Actually I do not have to hold down the Command key.
Hitting just the number key will do.

From a Finale document you can create a PDF file in two ways:

1) “printing” to a PDF file,

2) exporting from the Graphics Tool (Graphics menu).

Have you tried both ways?

Re: TG Tools Modify SLurs Moves Measure Changes to the Wrong Bars!

No promises, but try this:

Take a look at
Preferences > View > Measure Numbers

Is the option
Display Defined Measure Numbers
selected?

Instead, select the other option:
Display Actual Measure Numbers

Check whether selecting Display Actual Measure Numbers solves your problem.

Re: Transpose Chord Symbol Playback Down 1 Octave

In the Chord Suffix Editor you can edit the playback of the chord suffix m7.

However, this will affect all occurrences of the suffix m7, in all keys.

To get a good chord voicing, disable the playback of chord symbols, and add instead a separate line for chord playback.

This is easy.

Use layers.

Enter the upper line in Layer 1, the lower line (= the whole note) in Layer 2.

On the computer screen the Layer 2 notes will appear in red, but everything will print in black.

MortalAgosto,

In this case I would go for the added separate staff.

Take a look at the attached Finale document, and tell what you think.
