Hey folks.......
Is there any way to make new text boxes default as assigned to the page instead of to measures?

It seems like my Finale used to do that by default, but now it's changed to the measure assignment, which I almost never use.

Thanks.

On Windows it sticks to whatever it was last set to. Maybe it's a Mac problem.

Ahh... after fooling around with it, I found that if I set the preference after selecting the text tool but **before** double-clicking in the document, it does stick.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

I don't think there's a way to set it without selecting the Text tool, and it is indeed grayed out while you're actively creating a text block.

I am on Windows and as far as I see it works like that:
When you are in page view, you can set the text blocks to be assigned to the page or to a measure. (menu textblock, last to lines)
When you are in landscape view you do not have these options and textblocks are always assigned to measures.

Since there are no pages in Scroll View, of course you can't attach them to a page. It all seems straight-forward and logical to me, so I'm not convinced there's any problem.
