This time Finale 27 won't playback but Printmaker 14 will

Up to today, my switch from Printmaker 14 to Finale 27 has solved several recurring problems. But today one surfaced in 27. My scores will not playback: no sound, no moving green line, nothing. When I open the same files in 14, they play normally.

Any ideas?

I tried to post the main score I am working on, and it's only 272K, but the site says that the file size is too large.

And when I try to export the file to a .wav, it creates an empty file.....

I decided to try a full reset: uninstall Finale and then reinstall it. That seems to have worked. But I still don't know how some setting got changed that cut off playback.....
